Fitness / Conditioning Classes
MMA Academy Fitness classes are designed to complement the Krav Maga Self Defense program and to bring a fresh experience to the total body workout.
MMA Bag Cardio -This rhythmically based class of continuous movement utilizing basic Krav Maga combatives in order to stress the cardiorespiratory and cardiovascular system. Within the warm up, an emphasis is placed on basic yoga poses that increase one’s balance, strength, and flexibility.
MMA Bag & Conditioning - An integration between strength training exercises and bag work, focus mitt, and/or thai pad training. These classes are designed to increase student’s power and performance. Medicine balls, kettle bells, plyometric skills and more to are used build and increase functional strength, stamina and agility. Gloves are required for this class.
Intro to Focus Mit - This workout is for beginners to become familiar with striking and holding focus mits. This class combines calisthenics while refining basic striking techniques with focus mit training into one fast paced class. An emphasis is placed on interval training throughout the duration of class to stress cardiovascular strength. Class concludes with core training and/or a stretch segment.
Focus Mit* - This class is for someone who is familiar with striking and holding focus mits/thai pads. This class combines calisthenics while refining striking combinations with focus mit training into one fast paced class. An emphasis is placed on interval training throughout the duration of class to stress cardiovascular strength. Class concludes with core training and/or a stretch segment. *Boxing gloves or bag gloves are required have attended “Intro to Focus Mit”
Sport Circuit - Circuit class is designed to work on all components of athletic skill. This class is done in a station format. Each station has different exercises and drills that increase balance, coordination, agility, speed, power, and flexibility. There is a large focus on core stability and strength.
Intro to MBG - We teach and train the four, basic functional fitness skills: Running, Jumping, Crawling and Climbing. Mastering these movements will provide you with the stability, strength and power you need for all of your favorite activities. What’s more, you will never work out alone because in our gym, we’re committed to teamwork, too. We are a community of people who work hard and play hard to help you stay fit for life.
Yoga/Flexibility - This class is highly therapeutic. It is specially designed to teach students how to detect what muscle systems may be under or over developed within their body and how to lengthen or strengthen these regions as necessary. Breath and relaxation techniques are practiced within each class. This class is done bare foot and no equipment is necessary.
